On Responsibility

Filed under: General — Jaqui @ 4:47 pm

The main issue with other software licenses is that they show a failing in society as a whole.

No-one wants to accept responsibility for themselves.

They all want to remain immature little children that need to have their hands help by their mommies. Grow up, accept that you are responsible for your words and actions. A company has to be responsible for their products, devices or software doesn’t matter, a company is responsible for the goods they provide.

Even the Service Industries are starting to refuse to accept responsibility, and that really sucks. the maids at that fancy hotel aren’t responsible if your room isn’t ready when you check in? If they are not responsible for doing their jobs who is? [ No I have never heard of this happening, it is only an example of what the lack of responsibility is leading towards. ]

If you open your mouth and words come out, or sit at a keyboard and type on a blog, own your words. Accept that you may actually wind up slandering someone and pay the damages, or prove that you only stated facts and screw them even more.

If you produce a product, from paper to a computer program, accept that it is yours. If the product is so crappy that you will not stand behind it fully, then don’t sell it. If you do make it available, STAND BEHIND IT!! Be an ADULT instead of a child.
